The Sustainable Development and Agri-food theme brings together researchers interested in carbon pricing, the circular economy, energy issues and environmental and climate risk management, and the agriculture and bio-food sector.
Research activities include digital issues in agriculture, and the evolution and growth of the biofood sector, including issues such as food waste, international agri-food trade, producer and consumer behaviour and food literacy. Several activities will be organised with the Agri-Food Forum.
The circular economy and the adoption of so-called clean technologies are also part of this broad theme, from addressing policies to increase the adoption of electric vehicles to studying the market structure of recyclable material management in the context of the closure of Asian markets. Other topics include eco-design, waste management and international trade in waste and end-of-life products. Energy issues are addressed in terms of energy policies, transformation of electricity systems, energy trade or decarbonisation scenarios.
