CIRANO is pleased to announce the appointment of John W. Galbraith as President of CIRANO Scientific Committee.

Holder of a Ph.D. in Econometrics from Oxford University, John W. Galbraith has been a CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since and is Full Professor in the Department of Economics at McGill University. He was Head of the Department of Economics at McGill University from 2010 to 2016. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Economics Association (1997-2001, 2003-2006) and President in 2004-2005. He was co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Economics, 2000-2004. A highly recognized researcher in his field, he has numerous publications in prestigious journals. He is also committed to CIRANO's mission, which ranges from research to the transfer of knowledge to our partners.
