Organized by CIRANO and the Association pour le développement de la recherche et de l'innovation du Québec (ADRIQ) on April 24, the event brought together experts and key players in the field to discuss the impact of the uncertainty surrounding the US tariffs, and the innovation and market diversification strategies needed to deal with it.
The panel featured Éric Gervais, President of Groupe pharmaceutique Duchesnay, Francine Masson, ADRIQ Consultant, Advisor and Coaching in Innovation Strategies, MPII (Best Practices in Integrated Innovation), François Gingras, Vice-President Innovation at Investissement Québec and Thierry Warin, Professor at HEC Montréal, CIRANO researcher and Fellow, Head of the CIRANO Pole in Data Science for Trade and Intermodal Transport.
Discussions focused on the challenges facing Quebec companies in a context of growing uncertainty linked to U.S. tariffs; the economic repercussions of these tariffs on supply chains, investments and long-term planning; strategies that companies can implement to mitigate these impacts, such as market diversification, productivity optimization and organizational innovation; or government support measures, alternatives to U.S. markets and initiatives to strengthen the resilience of Quebec companies.
