CIRANO is pleased to highlight the appointment of Benoit Dostie, CIRANO researcher and Fellow, as Chair of the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council for a three-year term.
On the recommendation of the Minister of Industry, and pursuant to section 8.1 of the Statistics Act, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Industry, under section 8.1 of the Statistics Act, appoints Benoit Dostie of Vaudreuil-sur-le-lac, Quebec, a member of the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council, to be Chairperson of the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council, to hold office during pleasure for a term of of three years.
At CIRANO, Benoit Dostie is a researcher and Fellow, principal investigator of the Skills theme, and responsible of the CIRANO Pole on the socio-economic impacts of digital intelligence. His research focuses in particular on labour economics, training, organizational innovation, and the effects of technological transformations on skills and productivity.
This appointment reflects recognition of his expertise and his contribution to evidence-based public policy, a central issue for the development of a strong and relevant national statistical system.
