The 3rd edition of the “Les Femmes en économie” event was a real success thanks to the remarkable work of organizers Maripier Isabelle and Catherine Michaud-Leclerc and their team. About 30 people participated. The presence of Julie Gingras, Deputy Minister of Finance of Quebec, Catherine Ferembach, Associate Deputy Minister of the Status of Women Secretariat and Aurélie Campana, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Université Laval, shows the importance of discussing gender bias in economics, even today.
The presentations by PhD students Paule Olivia Akotto on the impact of the rapid internet on domestic violence and Valentina Rutigliano on the entrepreneurial divide resulting from motherhood were greatly appreciated.
The lecture by Pascaline Dupas, Professor at Princeton University, on gender dynamics in research seminars in economics and the presentation by Sonia Laszlo, Professor at McGill University and Fellow CIRANO, on the state of knowledge on gender bias has given rise to important reflections.
