CIRANO was present at the 34th edition of "Perspectives agroalimentaires", held at the Drummondville Centrexpo on April 23, 2024. The event, organized by the Centre de référence en agriculture et agroalimentaire du Québec (CRAAQ), attracted over 700 participants, both online and in person.

"Perspectives agroalimentaires" aims to explore the future of the sector by discussing recent transformations in agriculture and agri-food, addressing economic trends, disruptive innovations, policy challenges and in-depth reflections.

During the event, several experts offered lectures on macroeconomic topics, natural resource issues, sustainable food systems and regenerative agriculture. Ingrid Peignier, CIRANO's Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization, highlighted CIRANO's agrifood research and collaboration opportunities at a booth. Participants were able to discover or rediscover all CIRANO's project reports aand the articles in the PERSPECTIVES Journal on agrifood issues, as well as a video on CIRANO's thematic year "Accelerate the transition to a sustainable and innovative biofood sector". CIRANO researcher Jacinthe Cloutier, a professor at Université Laval, presented a poster from her project on the resilience of the food bank supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
