CIRANO contributed to the national consultation on AI regulation led by the Quebec Innovation Council.
Several CIRANO researchers participated in expert meetings. Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin (Polytechnique Montréal) and CEO of CIRANO co-led discussions on the impact of AI on employment and the labor market with Éric Gingras, president of the Centrale des syndicats du Québec.
Many of the consultation meetings were held at CIRANO. Christophe Mondin, a research professional at CIRANO and OBVIA, was involved in the process.
The report submitted to Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon, Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEIE), represents a collective response to the challenge of responsible development and deployment of AI in Quebec.
