Brahim Boudarbat, Professor at the Université de Montréal and CIRANO Researcher and Fellow, is in the media following the publication of the CIRANO report "Les minorités visibles nées au Canada: l’angle mort des politiques d’intégration au marché du travail" last month.
This report, which he co-authored with Idossou Marius Adom, presents the latest developments on the situation of immigrants and visible minorities in the Quebec and Canadian labor markets.
Les Affaires published an article on Brahim Boudarbat's CIRANO report, which questions the idea that the children of immigrants “will find it easier to enter the labor market than their parents when they are born here.” Journalist Catherine Charron cites the researcher's analyses, which show that Canadian-born and diverse people have “inherited” the same barriers to employment as their parents.
Brahim Boudarbat was also interviewed as an expert in an article in Le Devoir on the issue of the economic integration of permanent immigrants. Journalist Lisa-Marie Gervais is seeking her expertise on a Statistics Canada study on the wages of new immigrants.
On February 22 at CIRANO, the author will present the results of his work and a panel will discuss immigration issues more broadly.
