Each year, the annual conference of the Société canadienne de science économique (SCSE) brings together specialists from all countries of the French-speaking world. For this 62nd edition, which will take place from May 10 to 12, many CIRANO researchers will be present, such as Prosper Dovonon, Raphaël Godefroy, Silvia Gonçalves, Jie He, Sabine Kröger, Mathieu Marcoux, Florian Mayneris, Markus Poschke, Mario Samano, Marine Carrasco, Dalibor Stevanovic and Nora Traum.
On Friday, May 12, Florian Mayneris, full professor at UQAM and fellow CIRANO, will organize the session “Public Policies, Housing, and Urban Transformations”. This session will focus on the impacts of public policies and investments on the housing market within cities. More specifically, it will address the effects of policies to promote access to housing and home ownership on housing affordability (Olivier Schöni, Laval), as well as the impact of public transit on the densification of the built environment (Jean Dubé, Laval and CIRANO), and the role of the development of certain amenities (parks, canals, etc.) in the gentrification of surrounding neighbourhoods (Florian Mayneris, ESG-UQAM and CIRANO).
