Benoit Dostie, Professor at HEC Montreal, Fellow and Principal Researcher of the CIRANO Innovation and Digital Transformation theme has been appointed to the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council for a three-year term.
The Council's mandate is to provide transparent advice to the minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and the Chief Statistician of Canada on the overall quality of the national statistical system.

The establishment of the Canadian Statistical Advisory Council is one of many initiatives that will support the modernization of Statistics Canada to provide Canadians with timely, high quality data and information in an increasingly digital society. The Council will strengthen the independence and relevance of the national statistical system and focus on the overall quality of Canada's statistical system.
