In the context of the current health crisis, CIRANO Researchers, Fellows and Invited Fellows have mobilized around a HEALTH workgroup to help the government respond to the challenges facing the health system.
Several research projects are underway. Researchers are particularly interested in health system issues that have emerged in the context of the pandemic. On the population side, several researchers are working on modeling the prevalence, spread and case-fatality of the virus. Some researchers are interested in the effect of containment on mental health and workplace productivity. Other researchers are analyzing population beliefs and behaviours associated with public health recommendations. On the health services side, health human resources, home care, long-term care, seniors' health services and telemedicine are at the heart of our researchers' research.
Our Researchers, Fellows and Invited Fellows also speak out in the press to share their expertise in understanding the issues and suggest possible solutions.
