Ms Nadine Renaud-Tinker, President, Quebec Headquarters, RBC Royal Bank, shared her experience during a networking event gathering researchers and business people.

Her presentation was on "Diversity and inclusion: a challenge that brings fulfillment and growth".

 

 

Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin

A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 2003, Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin has been President and Chief Executive Officer of CIRANO since 2016, has been leading the Baromètre CIRANO project on risk perception in Quebec, which annually collects data on Quebecers' concerns on 47 social issues since 2011, is responsible of the CIRANO Pole on the Socio-economic Impacts of Digital Intelligence and Main Researcher of the theme Innovation and Digital Transformation. Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin is Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. She is also a Visiting Scientist at Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health and an associate researcher at the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO).

Holding a Ph.D. in Management Science (in risks and insurance management) from École normale supérieure de Cachan, her research interests focus on risk management and decision-making in different risks and uncertainty contexts as well as public policies. Her research combines economic analysis, cost-benefit analysis, survey data analysis, and more recently massive unstructured data analysis.

In 2008 she created the RISQH network to raise awareness and share experiences on risks management, and patient safety and quality of care in health care facilities.

She participated in the creation of the Montreal Declaration for a Responsible Development of AI.

She is also co-PI of the "Monitoring and Surveys" function at the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology.

She has published numerous scientific articles, several books and more than 30 reports for government and other organizations. She has given more than a hundred conferences and is regularly solicited to speak in the media.

Nadine Renaud-Tinker

Appointed President in 2017, Nadine Renaud-Tinker is responsible for managing RBC Royal Bank’s business priorities in Quebec.

She enthusiastically oversees the development of strategic objectives while helping clients thrive, fostering employee engagement and supporting community prosperity.

Bringing with her a wealth of extensive international experience, Nadine joined RBC in Montreal in 1998. Throughout her professional career, she has risen to the many challenges encountered, gaining vast experience within business units of various sizes: Business Financial Services, Personal Banking, Risk Management and Special Loans. Earning numerous promotions along the way, Nadine has held such roles as Branch Manager, Financial Planner, Commercial Account Manager and Regional Vice President, Integrated Markets, in both Quebec and Toronto.

A proven leader, Nadine is recognized for her creativity, entrepreneurship, passion and superb ability to engage her teams. In recent years she has successfully overseen the growth and development of branches and advised a number of small, medium-sized and large businesses.

Alongside her professional activities, Nadine provides ongoing support to various mentorship, talent development and advisory programs, both internally and externally.

With a strong commitment to mental health and children’s causes, Nadine Renaud-Tinker is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Foundation, the Jewish General Hospital Foundation and the Fondation Jeunes en Tête. She is actively involved in various philanthropic events in the community, including the Urban BBQ event, which she heads up in support of the Cancer Research Society.

In 2021, she won the Financial Personality of the Year award in the National Financial Institutions category, as part of the Top Financial Industry Leaders in Quebec, awarded by the Finance et Investissement newspaper.

A native of Montreal, Nadine has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Ottawa. She also holds an executive MBA from Athabasca University and a diploma in personal financial planning from the Institute of Canadian Bankers.

Louise Roy

A corporate director and international consultant, Louise Roy is currently Chair of the Board and a Visiting Fellow at CIRANO.


Louise Roy has held́ senior management positions in the urban transportation, air transportation and communications industries. She waś CEO of the Société de transport de Montréal (1985-1992), Executive Vice President for the Americas of Air France at its Paris headquarters (1994-1997), CEO of Telemedia Communications Inc. (1997-2000) and Executive Vice President of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) (2000-2003).


Since September 2003, Ms. Roy has been a Visiting Fellow at CIRANO and, since 2012, she has chaired the Board of Directors of this Center for Applied Research in Public Policy. She was Chancellor and Chair of the Board of the University of Montreal from 2008 to 2018 and was named Chancellor Emeritus.


During her career, she has also served as a director of Power Financial Corporation and Intact Financial Corporation, the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), Montreal International, Provigo Inc, Laurentian Bank of Canada, Videotron Ltd. and Domtar Corporation. She has chaired the Board of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, a cultural granting organization. Ms. Roy is currently a director of the Opéra de Montréal, the Montreal International Music Competition Foundation (MIMC) and the Montreal Airport.
