The Association des économistes québécois - Montreal Chapter and CIRANO organized a discussion on this subject which is at the heart of societal issues with two panelists who will attempt to answer these questions. This conference was conducted by Mrs. Geneviève Charette, Senior Economist at AECOM and followed by a short networking period.
Public transit pricing, studied by many economists and politicians, is a subject of growing interest for the citizens, namely in the context of a revision of the fee structure which is currently taking place in Greater Montreal. In fact, the resulting impacts of the funding options are numerous and touch upon many issues.
How to make informed choices in order to obtain an equitable solution and allow to promote the use of public transit services? What are the best practices observed elsewhere and are they transferable to our province? What changes will be implemented in the short term in the Greater Montreal area?
