A CIRANO Researcher since 2017, Vasia Panousi is Associate Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business
Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she is a specialist in macroeconomics and deals with issues related to financial risk-taking and the integration of financial markets as well as problems of inequality in the economy and the optimal design of public policies in social insurance.
From 2008 to 2016, she worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., first as Economist, then as Senior Economist, then as Principal Economist. She joined the Department of Economics at the Université de Montréal in 2016.
She has published in the best journals in economics, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Economic Theory and the Journal of Monetary Economics.
