Lionel Page, Professor at University of Queensland and CIRANO Research Associate, has released his book « Optimally Irrational » which highlights the causes of behavioral biases and offers an overview of what behavioral economics means for economics.
For a long time, economists have assumed that we were cold, self-centered, rational decision makers–so-called Homo economicus. The last few decades have shattered this view. The world we live in and the situations we face are, of course, rich and complex, revealing puzzling aspects of our behaviour.
During his visit to Montreal, Lionel Page will present an overview of the topics covered in the book. The event will be followed by a cocktail.
This event will be held in French.
