Biography

A Visiting Fellow since 2024, Martine Hébert is a renowned economist and former diplomat. In recent years, she has held the position of Québec Delegate to Chicago between 2019 and 2021, and then served as Québec Delegate General to New York (2021-2024).

A renowned economist among economic development players, decision-makers and the media, she has led her career within renowned public and private organizations in both Quebec and Canada. A seasoned expert in government relations and the business world, she has contributed to the economic development of Quebec and Canada, notably through her 10 years as Senior Vice-President and National Spokesperson for Canada's largest SME association, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

In April 2015, she was also named one of the six most influential public affairs personalities in Quebec by the renowned magazine Les Affaires. She is a regular media commentator.

Martine Hébert holds a master's degree in economics from the Université de Montréal. She is the author of books on government relations and taught the first course on the subject at the Université de Montréal, which also awarded her an honorary diploma in 2010 in recognition of the excellence of her career.
