A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 2017, Ekaterina Turkina is Associate Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at HEC Montréal. She holds the Professorship in International Business Networks as well as the Chair in Global Innovation Networks at HEC Montréal, and a member of the Groupe de Recherche en Affaires internationales (GRAI). She is also an Associate Editor of Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and a member of International Advisory Board of International Journal of Productivity Management and Assessment Technologies.
Holding a Ph.D. in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, herresearch areas are socio-cultural and politico-economic contexts in international business, innovation and inter-firm networks, international entrepreneurship, and industrial clustering.
She has published in World Economy Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of Business Research, Journal of European Integration, Cross Cultural Management: an International Journal, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, and the International Journal of Computer Science and Networks.
She has written three books and was a recipient of several awards, including the Highly Commended Paper Award from the Journal of Enterprising Communities, Best Paper on EU Governance from the European Community Studies Association, U.S. State Department Young Leaders Fellowship and other. She has recently been nominated for the Alan Rugman Most Promising Scholar Award that is given to talented scientists under the age of forty.
