A CIRANO Associate Researcher and Fellow since 2010, Luc Savard is Full Professor at the Faculty of Governance, Economic and Social Sciences of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.
Holding a PhD in Economics from the Paris School of Economics, he is specialized in economic and social impact analysis. His recent research focuses on modeling the social impact (poverty and income distribution) of economic reforms in developing countries.
He has been Director of Programs in Economics and Full Professor in the Department of Economics at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he taught for more than 15 years. He was Director of the Groupe de recherche en économie et développement international (GREDI) from 2005 to 2013. He has been a consultant for many institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, OECD, Asian Development Bank, GTZ, UNICEF and worked directly with several governments (Morocco, Gabon, Burundi, Senegal, Quebec, etc.).
He is the author of about 40 scientific publications on various themes such as informal sector modeling, environment, public expenditure and poverty analysis. He is co-author of Politiques économiques du développement : les modèles d’équilibre général calculable and author of several book chapters.
