A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 2008, Manuel Crespo is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Administration and Foundations of Education at the Université de Montréal. He is also Member of the Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la formation et la profession enseignante (CRIFPE).
Holding a Ph.D. in Sociology from McGill University, his research focused on school management and public policies in education. His work has led to a better understanding of programs from a comparative perspective at the international level.
Professor at the Faculty of Education at the Université de Montréal since 1979, Manuel Crespo successively held the positions of Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Faculty Secretary and Vice-Dean of Administration and to internationalization. He is the author of numerous publications that have greatly contributed to the advancement of knowledge in his field.
Very active on the international scene, he has been asked to carry out mandates for UNESCO, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Fund for Drug Control, in addition to leading a host of projects for different foreign governments.
